In 2010 The Lambda-DKE Alumni Association created the Bob Heasley Scholarship Fund in order to assist members of the active chapter with education expenses. The fund was created in honor of Bob Heasley '60 for his years of service to Kenyon DKEs. For over a decade Bob has single handedly run the chapter's Alumni Association. Under his leadership new chapter by-laws were voted into place and the Alumni Association Executive Committee was chosen. Without Bob's leadership over the last decade none of our recent initiatives would have been possible. The Alumni Association is grateful for Bob's leadership and years of dedicated service to the Fraternity and we honor him with the creation of the Bob Heasley Scholarship Fund.
If I step back and think about my experience at Kenyon, I think first and foremost about my time as a DKE. My fraternity brothers were my best friends at Kenyon and remain so today.The mission of the Bob Heasley Scholarship Fund is to provide financial aid to a pledge, active or alumnus member of the fraternity, who by necessity or merit deserves the assistance of the Fund to pursue their educational ambitions for the betterment of the fraternity. In coordination with the Rampant Lion Foundation, the Bob Heasley Scholarship Fund was created to help and/or reward loyal brothers of the fraternity who in their academic pursuits fall on hard financial times.
All contributions to the fund are tax exempt and donors can expect the appropriate tax documentation shortly after contributing. Scholarship grants are subject to approval from the Rampant Lion Foundation in accordance with the Fund's objectives. The fund has been established with a seed investment of $1,000 and we hope that with your help it can grow substantially over the coming years. While we hope that all brothers will be able to afford their own academic ambitions, if in their efforts they fall short, we hope that the Bob Heasley Scholarship Fund can provide the support necessary so that every Lambda-DKE can reach their academic goals.
